Jakarta – Indonesia and Switzerland aim to enhance cooperation in the digital sector as they commemorate 75 years of diplomatic relations, according to Communications and Digital Affairs Minister Meutya Hafid.

Speaking at Switzerland’s National Day reception in Jakarta on July 29, Meutya emphasized Indonesia’s interest in advancing digital innovation while building on economic, trade, and educational connections.

She recognized Switzerland’s key role as a host of international digital governance forums such as the International Telecommunication Union and the World Summit on the Information Society, which offer opportunities to boost Indonesia’s global digital engagement.

Despite having flourished for over seven decades, these bilateral ties continue to evolve through collaborations in development, trade, legal affairs, and digital transformation. Meutya extended congratulations on behalf of Indonesia to Switzerland, highlighting the significance of this diplomatic milestone.

“We are eager to explore various innovation opportunities in the digital sector to broaden our cooperation horizons,” she stated confidently.

Meutya also expressed gratitude to the Swiss Ambassador to Indonesia for his dedication, wishing him success in his future assignments.
