(TheIndoDaily) – Germany’s U-17 soccer team won their maiden World Cup U-17 2023, held in Manahan Stadion, Solo, Central Java, Indonesia, after beating France’s team in a penalty shootout with a score of 4-3 for Germany.
The two teams ended the normal 90 minutes time with the score of 2-2 forcing the two teams to decide the winner through a penalty.
Germany’s U-17 national team bombarded France’s defense in the early part of the game, but no goals were recorded as Spain managed to contain the attack through a solid defense.
Germany scored 1 goal before the break through a penalty. Paris Brunner made the most of the opportunity by scoring the first goal. German added another goal in the 51st minute. But Spain reduced the deficit to 2-1 by scoring a goal.
In the 69th minute, Germany’s U-17 players were reduced to 10 after Winners Osawe got the second yellow card. This encouraged France’s U-17 players to continue to attack. Finally, in the 84th minute, France equaled the score 2-2 after Mathis Amougou converted the beautiful pass made by Tidiam Gomis.
The score remained 2-2 when the referee blew the final whistle.
Mali was in third place after beating Argentina 3-0.
