(TheIndoDaily) President Joko Widodo on Wednesday (22/11) installed the new Indonesian National Armed Forces Commander General Agus Subiyanto, replacing Admiral Yudo Margono.

He was installed a day after the House of Representatives (DPR) approved his appointment at a Plenary Meeting. General Agus passed the fit and proper test, paving the way for his installment as the country’s new Commander of the Armed Forces.

General Agus Subiyanto rose to the top military position only one month after he was appointed as the Army Chief, namely on Oct. 25, 2023.

General Agus Subiyanto was born on Aug. 5, 1967. Before that, General Agus held the position of the Commander of Kodam III/Siliwangi (2021-2022) and then Deputy Army Chief of Staff (2022-2023.
